Reclaimed 19th century oak

Like most of our products the English star panel draws heavy inspiration from an original reclaimed flooring panel collected in our salvage history.  Reclaimed oak has a beautiful range of natural colours, which when combined create a lovely contemporary finish.

Parquet de Versailles has dominated the panel market for years, it’s a beautiful and very traditional design with a rich history. These large panels often suit grand rooms, with high ceilings, traditional features, and darker finishes. With the English star panel our goal was to create a more contemporary floor. We believe smaller panels suit a modern aesthetic with lighter colours lending space to more modest rooms.

LET’S GET TECHNICAL

The english star is made using a mixture of 18th and 19th-century reclaimed oak, hand-selected and graded based on colour and character. Each piece is cut by hand using traditional woodworking techniques. As every panel is hand made we always look to keep the cracks, gaps and knots, all of which compliment the star design. We mount the oak onto marine plywood using the best quality German adhesive, fixed with hidden nails for extra strength.
