Machining
We De-nail, kiln-dry, sand and machine each board by hand ensuring every board gets the attention it needs to transform. We realised early on that by using traditional machines we are rewarded with a finished product that is in a class of its own. Instead of striving for perfect imitation we adopted the traditional techniques used in the 18th and 19th century and applied them to our process, making it the real deal.
Finishing
Drummond Shaw Design (DSD) takes great pride in the way we finish our floors, with skilled labour going into chiselling and sanding each board individually. We only used handheld equipment to avoid a generic flat, un-enchanting finish.
